Reflections

In the series of Reflection I investigate the rendering between the present tangible and the reflection of it. In the surface of water and as the perception in the mind. In nature and in thought as well as the nature of thought. I want to illustrate how reflections bend, throw or twist back facts, feelings, and acknowledgements. The perfect mirroring is a bliss. On the other hand, a ripple on the water disturbs the reflection and new lines occur as well as the ‘ripple’ in perception opens the opportunity for wondering, examination. New takes on old tasks. New possibilities. We might seek the perfect reflection but by accepting the ripple in perception we get flexible minds. As a mirroring or mirage things are not always as they seem. This uncertainty should be filled with hope and dreams for the ‘big picture’. When fading the gaze on the motif the observer gets the big picture, senses the harmony and perceives the wholeness of reflection. When looking into the course of the lines the observer sees nothing but twists and bends that deviate. The deviation nevertheless creates a lively harmony.
